Foundation Pro Plugin Requirements
Jetpack is the only plugin required to make the most of Foundation Pro. You can download Jetpack through your WordPress Dashboard Plugins and search for Jetpack and install. You can also download Jetpack here.
Setting up the Homepage
Once you have activated Foundation Pro, create a new page called ‘Home’. You will see a module that states: ‘Page Attributes’. Look for a section that states ‘Template’ and from the drop down menu, select ‘Front Page Template’. You can add content for your intro section to show on the homepage in the editor module. Be sure to update/publish any changes.
Create a new page called ‘Blog’. No content or templates need to be added or chosen. Be sure to publish.
While still in your WordPress admin, go to ‘Settings’ ‘Reading’. Under the ‘Front Page Displays’ section you can select your ‘Home’ page you created for your ‘Front page’ and your ‘Blog’ page as your blog. Be sure to save your changes.
If you view our demo, you will see that the homepage is showcasing 3 other pages below the homepage intro content. To add those sections, create three new pages. Simply add content and a featured image to showcase the pages. Foundation Pro supports up to 4 pages to showcase on the homepage.
To add them to the homepage, while still in your WordPress admin, go to ‘Appearance’ ‘Customize’ ‘Theme Options’. From here you can select the 3-4 pages to showcase on your homepage. If you want 2 pages to be showcased, you can do that too.
Adding Social Links
To setup your social links menu. Log in to your WordPress Dashboard. Go to Appearance Menus and Create a new menu name it ‘social.’ Check ‘Social’ under theme location. Finally, add ‘custom links’ to your menu. Be sure to click the ‘Save Menu’ button to save your menu. Foundation supports most popular social networks. If we are missing one, let us know.
